Beginning in February, when visitors stop at the new Visitors Center located at 100 Beaty Street North (beside the duck pond), they will be welcomed by volunteers and staff members ready to showcase the new center and tell them all about Athens and Limestone County events and attractions.

The center will be the first stop for visitors coming to Athens and will provide them with information on lodging, shopping, how to get tickets to events, historic site locations, great places to eat and more. It will also provide the much needed visibility for local events, attractions and historical heritage.

A small Museum and Gift Shop will be in the center where visitors will learn about some of our historical culture and heritage. Handmade specialty items and more will be available for purchase to remind them of their visit.

The Chamber and the Tourism Council are excited at the opportunity of having a dedicated Visitors Center to promote tourism in Athens and Limestone County.
